(Taipei, Taiwan – June 20, 2023) AAEON, a leader in advanced industrial solution design, has released the RTC-1020, a 10.1" Rugged Mobile Tablet built for in-field use applications such as construction inspection, mechanical maintenance, and inventory management.
The RTC-1020’s specifications see a variety of upgrades that specifically target pain points encountered in industrial settings, such as greater battery capacity, higher screen readability, and a preinstalled LTE module.
Particularly suited to outdoor environments, the RTC-1020 can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C, has an IP65 compliant environmental sealing, and is incredibly durable, having been through MIL-STD-810H drop and shock stress testing to guarantee its fitness for use in heavy industry.
A similar prerequisite that the device meets for in-field use is its connectivity options. RED certification means the RTC-1020 can be purchased with a preinstalled LTE module, while the device also boasts an upgrade in Wi-Fi speed and bandwidth due to its support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, which substantially improves on the previous generation’s Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. For wireless navigation, the RTC-1020 supports up to three global navigation satellite systems, with GPS and Galileo being the device’s default, and GLONASS and BeiDou also available.
Another key benefit to the RTC-1020 is that it provides continuous operation via two hot-swappable 51.1W lithium-ion batteries, which eliminates the need to power the device down during replacement. The battery capacity is also 50% greater than the previous RTC rugged tablet model, meaning users can take advantage of longer working hours before needing to swap battery packs.
